Because I am still getting people linking to my blogs as ammunition against Dayna Martin, I had to say this: The intent of the blogs that have used my writings as ammunition against her were not loving and not good for the homeschooling or parenting community as a whole. They were not meant to help anyone in any positive way no matter how they have tried to say otherwise.
I find it odd and disturbing that generalizations I wrote about were twisted to fit imaginary scenarios that didn't happen. Just because her and I were speaking, it doesn't mean that anything I wrote had anything to do with my friendship with her. Context was read where there was none. The rumors were all false and I will never understand people making up stories to cause trouble for others.
Yes, I also received an apology from Dayna. In that, as well as my correspondence with her since, I believe she is genuine, sincerely wants to help parents along their journey and wants to move forward to be as authentic as she can. Nobody is perfect and everyone stumbles.
And to quell the final published rumor, I was not uninvited by the Martins to speak at the Life Rocks Conference. I notified Dayna, I believe it was in January of that year, that it was no longer in alignment with my goals to attend and speak there.
I sincerely hope this is the end of the hits I am getting through Sandra Dodd's web page to this particular post! My intent, as it always has been, is to share any parenting knowledge I gain along my journey of raising my four kids. I don't use labels as others do because I don't feel the need to, plus I don't fit into ANY parenting or homeschooling labels I have read about. I write because I enjoy to write and because I enjoy helping other people find easier ways to be the parents they want to be without needless struggles.
I have pulled the text from below as I feel that I have said enough above to defend why I chose not to engage in cyber bullying or intentionally destroy someone else's life.
As a Parent Coach and Mentor, my passion lies in empowering parents to make the best decisions they can for their children and their families as a whole. As a well-trained coach, I can be your facilitator and accountability partner for long-lasting, meaningful change that has a permanent, positive impact for your family. By focusing on the values that you hold most important in your life, I can help you create and maintain the type of parenting relationship you want to have with your children, now and into their adulthood.
I am a homeschooling mom of four children in Massachusetts. I am also the author of a book called The Herbal Beverage Book, which can be found on amazon. When not coaching, writing or spending time with the family, I enjoy Hayao Miyazaki films, new and classic Dr. Who episodes, anything related to American history and a great glass of mead.

This blog is a collection of thoughts, articles and perspectives I have at any one time. While I am pretty consistent in my beliefs, life changes and evolves along with experiences. You may feel a connection with me through my writing yet I never want any of my readers to misunderstand that the connection you feel is with a perspective I have shared and not me as a person. I am continually humbled that I am able to connect with my readers, and I hope to continue to be able to for many years to come, but it doesn't make us connected in any way beyond this. If you connect with what I write and know me as an acquaintance, this in no way reflects that I have any knowledge of you, your situation in life or that I am writing with you in mind. It is merely that I have shared a human experience that most likely very many others have had has well. This also goes for anything I post on my Twitter account, Facebook Page and Facebook personal page. I wanted to make this disclaimer as clear as possible so you know that any misunderstanding you choose to have is not my responsibility.
